    Notice of Annual General Meeting
    23/02/2009
Aberdeen FC Supporters' Society Limited Annual General Meeting:
    Saturday 14th March 2009 1pm
Patio Hotel (now Double Tree), Beach Boulevard, Aberdeen

We are trying something different this year by holding the AGM prior to the Hamilton Accies game and ask that as many as possible attend. The AGM will be an opportunity for each of you to give us your feedback on the Trust’s work and also to discuss current issues surrounding the Trust, AFC and football generally.

Immediately after the AGM, we will have refreshments and sandwiches during which we will have an informal question and answer session.

As we write, the club has pulled itself up to fifth place in the league following a poor start. However, the memory of QoS at Hampden is still fresh in most minds and we certainly hope for cup success soon.

There is real concern over the level of attendances and there is a consensus that the attractiveness of the product on the park is not appealing enough this season to bring the boost to crowds that would also help the club finances. That said, we are mindful we are in a recession and fans must determine their own priorities.

As ever the Trust is looking for new blood and help on the board and have plans to try to revitalise the Trust and look to broaden the organisation to try to become an effective umbrella for all groups with the Dons at heart. Ideally we would like a board of 8-11 members. Members with some time and knowledge of areas such as finances, fund raising, general administration, community involvement and newsletter production, would be particularly welcome to put themselves forward. The Society Board normally meets 10 times per year.

If any member wishes to put himself/herself forward to serve on the Society Board of the Trust then either write to us at the above address, e-mail secretary@afctrust.com or make themselves known to one of the existing Board members at the meeting.

Copies of the financial statements for Aberdeen Football Club Supporters’ Society Limited (AFC Supporters Trust) for the year ended 30 June 2007 and 30 June 2008 will be available at the meeting, other relevant documentation relating to the Trust’s AGM have been enclosed with this letter, or a copy can be requested by writing to the Secretary at AFC Supporters’ Trust, PO Box 1903, Aberdeen AB24 4YJ or by e-mailing secretary@afctrust.com.

Because we need your support and feedback, we would urge you to attend this Annual General Meeting.

To help with catering arrangements, please e-mail info@afctrust.com or if possible call Bill Ellis on 01738 444970 to confirm attendance.

    Yours sincerely

    AFC Trust Society Board
