AFC Supporters Trust and the Red Ultras supporters group today delivered a 3000 signature petition to Aberdeen City Council ahead of their meeting today urging councillors to support the concept and plans for a community stadium facility for the city.

The Trust is keen to promote the provision of such a facility and feel strongly that is in the interests of both Aberdeen Football Club and the wider North-East community that a community stadium facility and associated sporting excellence centre is created in the city.

The North East lags behind other areas both in Scotland and also in Europe in the provision of top class sporting facilities and the council has an opportunity to rectify this problem.
